No title for now

Alright, alright -
I'm awake!
Just give me a minute to adjust to
full consciousness.
My eyes, with the scales of sleep,
can't yet make the transition.
and my ears,
be careful with them!
still sensitive to the noise of life.
and my feet, well,
they drag -
one
step
after
the
other.
If I'm awake,
why then is it so hard for me
to fight this sleepiness?
If I'm up and at 'em,
when will I get to
gettin' at 'em.
Lord, Lord -
I'm awake!
and yet.
and yet,
my mind is still
draggin,
with one of its legs awake
and prepared,
for there is a long journey ahead -
and yet the other,
is still numb from sleep.
Lord, Lord, awaken your Holy rage within me.
Let me be a spiritual insomniac!
Speak God, I'm awake and ready
to listen.
